[Pee, Pees 3 Association.! AUCKLAND, Mat 14. At the Police Coart, before Ms North-' Cioffc, S.M., the first of the charges against John Adeaa, of Gisborne, under, the penal clause of the Bankruptcy Act, was hoard. Counsel submitted that the accused did not get'credit by false pretences and fraud. The case was dismissed. The accused pleaded guilty of not keeping proper boots, and was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. GISBOENE, Mat 14. In the Supremo Court, before Mr Barton, Eagistrar, the hearing of an application was commenced in which Duncan and James M’Nicol, of Auckland, petitioned that Wi Pare, M.H.E.,should be adjudged a bankrupt. The debt to the judgment creditors is .£4311, and it is alleged that the debtor committed an act of bankruptcy on March 12. Mr Nolan appeared in support of the petition, and Mr Eeea for Wi Pare. A large number of objections were raised’ by Mr Eeea in the course of the argument. Tha case was adjourned bill to-morrow. Afc a second meeting of creditors of James Philp, ironmonger, Tlmaru, a resolution ■waa carried by force of proxies from Dunedin creditors, that the Aseignes ahould take steps to upset the sale of the bankrupt's business, effected shortly before filing, on terms which prevented the proceeds being available towards satisfying the clftjms of tho general creditors.
