INCOME TAX RETURNS.
[Pee Pbebs Association.! f DUNEDIN, Mat 14. The Committee of' the Chamber of | Commerce has forwarded a letter to tha Premier respectfully protesting against tha new income tax form on the following grounds (1) The amount of labour required, and consequent ezpanaa in com- ! piling the returns; (2) tho inquisitorial nature of much of the information required and tho danger of confidential information leaking out through the returns passing through numerous hands. Tho committee suggest that the income tax should be assessed on a three years basis as in England. ■
