HURUNUI RABBIT BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of this Board called for April 6 lapsed lor want of a quorum, only Messrs E. D. Giles and W. O. Rutherford being present. The adjourned meeting was held on Apiil 18; presant—Messrs W. T. Robinson (chairman), E. D. Giles, T. Chapman and J. Henderson. Mr Henderson read hie report for the past month, which was adopted. It was resolved that one month’s notice should be given to three residents of Cheviot to exterminate the rabbits on the lands in their occupation, and that the Board would provide material for alteration of the fence at the Leamington, provided tbo Cheviot County Council carried out the work to tho satisfaction of Mr W. T. Robinson, the Board’s representative, and paid all further expenses iu connection with it. It was decided to remove the unguarded rabbit traps at the Houmsr, and to supply cartridges to the caretakers. Tho Clerk was instructed to write, asking Mr Ritchie’s approval of the proposal to |ramove that part of The Hurunui fence between the old blacksmith’s shop and the Waitohi cutting, from the north to the south side of the road. The regular monthly meeting of the Board was fixed for the first Saturday in each month.
