ROAD BOARDS .

SPEEYDON, The ordinary meeting of the Board was held oh May 2 ; present—Messrs D. Hamiaidea (chairman), J. Hocking, W. H. Maubira and J. Down. A letter waa received from tho Eev Barton Ginger, asking that his name should be placed on tha roil. Mr Down was asked to interview him on the matter. It waa resolved—“Thit the Board desires to express its sympathy with Mr D. M’Lenaghan in tha serious illness experienced in his family, and ihe sad bereavement that has befallen him.” It was also resolved that it should bo a recommendation to the new Board to consider the bast means of giving effect to the resolutions of the special meeting held on April 18. Accounts amounting to £34 3a lid were passed for payment. WEST EYEETON. The annual meeting of ratepayers was held onMsy'3; present—Messrs J. Addiaell (chairman), J. Conway, J. Dixon, A. Hunter, P. G. Horrell, W. Smith and S. Sheat. The annual report and balancesheet were read, showing tha receipts fer tha year to have been .£2730 4s 2d and tho expenditure £2238 10s 7d. Thera waa a, balance of assets over liabilities of £3389 13s 4d. On the motion of Mr Addiuell, seconded by Mr Hunter, tha report and balance-sheet were adopted, subject to audit. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the outgoing members of the Board for their past services.
