HOSPITAL FETE.

Tha feta that took place ia the hospital grounds yesterday afternoon in aid of the Destitute Patients’ Fund was favoured with fine weather, and attracted large numbers of people. There were numerous ride-shows, and all found plenty p£ patrons. The refreshment stall was in charge of Mesdimea Bannett, Parker, Rhodes, M. Campbell, and Denniston, and Misses Tabart end Beeves. The ice - cream stall was ia charge of Mesdames George Gould and Hutton; Miss Maude had charge of the sweets stall, Mrs Guise the liquid refreshments and Mias Turner and Mrs Carrick the fruit and flower stalls. Mr Raphael and Mr Ballantyno acted as managers of the entertainment, and the Stanmore Band and the Estudiaatina Band played selections. Thera ware also an “ Aunt Sally,” looked after by Mr Mills, a Punch and Judy show, under the management of Mr T. Maude, a shooting gallery, a comic art gallery, and swing-boat?, so that those present had plenty of means of enjoying themselves, Messrs Mills and Hill worked very energetically. In the evening a concert in aid .of the fund was given ia the Christchurch Working Men’s Club hall by some of the members of that Club and the Sydenham Club. The attendance was not as large as the entertainment and its object deserved. Mrs Scrimgeour played the overtures; songs ware sung by Messrs Broome, Gent, Glanville, Williamson and Maurice; duets by Messrs Maurice and Gianville and Williamson and Maurice; recitations were given by Mr 3. Walker and Master E. Davidson ; banjo solos were played by | Messrs 0. W. Hawley and Pickering, and Mr P. Peat danced aa Irish jig. The entertainment closed with a farce entitled Irish Justice.
