ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
[Spicoial to Press Association,! disastbotjs bloods. NEW YORE, April 12. Heavy floods have occurred in Alabama. Twenty persons have been drowned, and five hundred families are rendered destitute. Immense damage has been done to property.
["Pee Pebss Association.]] WAIPAWA, April 13. A commercial traveller, named Thompson, was thrown from his horse yesterday, and sustained concussion of the brain. He died last night. Yesterday morning, a spring cart belonging to Mr A. E. Tutton, butcher, was standing at the corner of Durham and Conference streets, when a traction engine at work in Mr Williams* coal and wood yard, blew off steam. The horse was frightened, and bolted down Conference street, where the shafts broke off, letting the horse loose. The driver of the cart, a lad named Frederick Bidmeade,had left it to serve a customer when the accident happened, but had previously fastened the wheel with a chain.
