FIRES.
[Special to Press Association.] YOKOHAMA, April 11. By the fire at ToMo sis thousand houses were destroyed and fifty persons lost their lives. April 13. The principal portionsof Tokio ax© destroyed by fire. [Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, April 13. A shop occupied by Mr James Lawrie, at Whangorei, was destroyed by fire. The stock was insured in the Union Office for j 875. There was no insurance on the building.
