Detective Walker produced the coat, which he bad discovered at Mr Cohen’s pawnshop. ; Accused was attested that morning at Addington, and in reply to the charge said that he had been drinking. Mr Davis, from whose shop door the coat was stolen, and Mr Ooben also gave evidence. Bis Worship considered toe case clearly proved, and sentenced the accused to a month’s imprisonment with hard labour.

Feidat, Not 16. (Before W. Donald, Esq., 3.M.) Labobhx ass Assault. —Five teamen be* longing to the barque Malay were charged with the above offence by Louie Ferdinand. Mr H. N. Nalder appeared for the pro* ceoutor. The Bench having heard the evidence, convicted four of the aocueed of the aeeault, and tentenoed them to 96 hour*’hard labour, ordering them to pay 21a eolioitor’e fee. The charge of larceny waa dismissed.
