From the evidence given in Court, it appean that Some dispute arose between an hotelkeeper named Beamish, and a Mrs Childs, about the trespssa of a oow. The dispute waxed warmer and warmer, culminating finally in Beamish thrashing the man Child*, and in Mrs Beamish and her mother, Mrs Danvers, pummelling Mrs Childs. The complainants in Court presented a very battered appearance. The Bench fined Ur* Beamish and Mrs Danvers each £5 and cost*. , With regard to the obarge against Beamish, the Bench said that owing to Child* having an unlawful weapon, an axe, In his hand dnnof 1 th 6 ftffrftj, ft* charge would be dismissed: Had this not been the case, they would have inflicted the heaviest penalty the law allowed, a* they considered Beamish had used great brutality. All parties were bound over to keep the peace f for 18 month*.
