RANGITATA BRIDGE.
TO THE BDIXOB OF THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Sib, —I am informed that if fine weather continues, tho sinking of tho cylinders will be completed by June 25, and the bridge ready for traffic within a very short time. Tho Provincial Council voted in January last sufficiemt money to make those approaches. The Timaru and Gladstone Board of Worlds have tho spending of tho money. Tho member for tho Ashburton district drew, about a month since, the Provincial Secretary’s attention to these approaches not having been made, and, as yet, no advertisement calling for tenders for tho work has appeared in the papers. Perhaps these few lines inserted in your newspaper may be tho means ,of again urging tho Timaru and Gladstone Board of Works to call fpy tenders, without any further delay: for it will be a serious inconvenience to the
public to have a valuable bridge completed «vor one of our worst rivers, and no means for many months to come of making use of it. ' Your obedient servant, LOOKER-ON.
