TO THIS EDITOR OF THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Sib, —A local appeared in your issue of this morning to the effect that negotiations are pending for the purchase of tue Clarendon Hotel tor the proposed club. May we beg that you will insert this note in contradiction of the statement which is without foundation.
