TO STAND THIS SEASON, At Mr. Ladbrooke's Stttbles, in Clirishchurch, The thoroughbred horse BAY CAMDEN, ' By 4 Calendar,' dain 4 Cassandra,' by 4 Tros,' gr-dam • Alice Grey,' by ' Old Emigrant,' great gr-dam • Gulnare,' by Lord Egremont's ' Young Gohoana, out of 4 Ultima,' by 4 Hollyhock.'—Vide Stud Book. 4 Gulnare' was foaled in 1822, and imported from England into N.S.W. by Mr. James Macartbur, of Camden Park. ' Calendar' (half-brother to 4 General Chassis') was imported to N.S.W. by the Australian Agricultural Co., was got by 4 Canteen ' out of 4 Hambletonian,' by 4 Stamford' out of 4 Harmonica' by 4 Hambletonian' out of 4 Monica' by 4 Sir Peter.'— Vide Stud Book. 4 Cassandra's' sire 4 Tros,' by 4 Priam,' out of 4 Ally' by 4 Partizan,' was bred by Lord Albemarle, and imported to N.S.W. by Mr. Kater, in 1840.— Vide Stud Book. 4 Alice Grey's' sire 4 Old Emigrant,' by 4 Pioneer' out of " Ringtail' by 4 Buzzard,' was bred by Mr. Rush, in 1822, and was jmported into N.S.W. by the present Admiral Rous, R.N., in 1828.—Vde Stud Book. 4 Bay Camden' is therefore as. thoroughbred as Eclipse, and combines in his veins some of the very best strains of racing blood. Ilis dam, Cassandra, made her appearance on the Australian turf in 1847, and in the short period of eight months beat every horse of note then on that . turf, the veteran 4 Jorrocks' included—and was admitted by the best judges to be the best racehorse that ever figured oil that turf, .and is now pronounced to be the finest brood mare in the colony. Bay Camden's own performances as a racehorse, under all weights, are far too numerous to enumerate, and are of such a character as to have stamped him by universal consent to be the best aged horse that had ever figured on the Victorian turf. His symmetry, substance, bone, good constitution, and tractable disposition, all recommend him as a sire, either for the turf or the road. * Fee £8; to be paid to Messrs Miles and Co., of Christclmrch, before the mare visits the horse ; their order will be necessary for the services of the horse. Mares covered last season by Bay Camden, and not proving in foal (excepting those which were guaranteed) the bona fide property of the same owner, half price. " 4 Launcelot' was winner of the Great St. Leger in his year. Fee, £6, to be paid to Messrs. Miles & Co., in Christchurch, or their agent in Kaiapoi, before the mare visits the horse; and their order will be necessary for the services of the horse. Groom's fee, 58., to be paid on first visit of the mare. Woodstock, the dam of Prince Charlie has proved herself an unusually good mare, having produced by Sir Hercules besides Prince Charlie, Phoebe and Wildrake, the second and third horses for the Champion sweepstakes in Sydney.
