He is by King Tom out of Deiopeia, by Defence, her, dam liomaike, by Rowton out of Katherine, by Soothsayer. King Tom is by Harkaway out of Pocohontas (dam of Stockwell, Rataplan, &c); he ran second for the Derby in 1854, and is considered the finest thoroughbred horse in England.
