CHEAPER STATE MONEY.
The Premier of N.S.W. recently opened negotiations with other States with respect to the rate of interest offering for Government securities and new issues thereof, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Tasmania have replied favorably, and Sir J. G. Ward, on behalf of N.Z., concurred. The result was that after Monday the N.S.W. Government will only issue Treasury bills at 3£ per cent, instead of -1 It is understood that similar action viil be taken bv other States.
