Queenstown Sports.

The Queenstown Athletic Club's annual gathering was held in the Recreation Reserve, Queeenstown, on New Year's Day. The attendance was as large as usual, although there was a failing off in the gate money. This was made up by an extra number of members' tickets being is-ued. Tinday was beautiful and everything went off well. The entries were numerous neatly £l2 being taken in entrance money. The handicap bicycle race (Hmile) sva3 w. 11 contested, F.iche, from Clyde, winning by only half a wheel, while the 2nd and 3rd riders were only 3in apart. The handicap time trot also c iused cousid ruble ex citeinent. Mr M Carthv, of Mountaineer Hotel tame, had the publican's booth, and seemed to do good business. Mr D. M'Pougull also did fairly well in the tea and coffee, and fruit stall. Mr James Robertson, as secretary, was most courteous and cbligini.', w)iil« the committee worked wull to make the meeting an enjoyable one. Results :
