A petition sighed by over 300 I residents of North Auckland in reference to the construction of the North Auckland Main Trunk railway extension has been received by Mr J. G. Coates, M.P. for Kaipara, and handed to the Minister for Public Works. The ■ petitioners contend that the time has arrived when a more vigorous construction policy in regard to the railway should be instituted, and it is suggested that to • this end a start should be made with the work southward from Northern Wairoa at Kirikopuni.
