AMALGAMATION PROPOSALS. TE KUITI AND OTOROHANGA. "There was an attendance of 54 members of the Otorohanga Golf Club at a special general meeting held in the Otorohanga Town Hall annexe on Thursday night last, called for che purpose of considering the prospects of "winding-up" the Club and amalgamating with Te Kuiti players to form one Club, which will probably be known as the Waitomo Golf Club. Mr. T. R. Lear, president, was in the chair, and called on the secretary, Mr. C. A. Jackson, to outline the position of the local Club and the prospects offered by the proposed amalgamation.
Several members of the Committee and the Club spoke on both sides of the question and a secret ballot was taken with the result that approximately 70 per cent, voted in favour of the amalgamation. The Committee was empowered to proceed with the necessary steps required for the winding-up of the Club, and if negotiations prove successful the amalgamation will take effect from the commencement of next season.
The matters is to be considered by a general meeting of the Te Kuiti Golf Club to be held on Thursday evening next. An advertisement calling the meeting appears on page 1.
