KAWHIA SOUTH NOTES
COMING-OF-AGE PARTY IN MOEATOA HALL.
Moeatoa Hall was the scene of a large gathering on the evening of the 17th inst. Friends from all parts of Moeatoa, Kiritehere, Marakopa, and Te Anga districts assembled when Mr. and Mrs. Robertson, of Kiritetere, entertained their friends on the occasion of the coming of age of their eldest son, Mr. William Robertson. The guests were most hospitably provided for and all spent a very pleasant evening, dancing being carried on until the early hours of the morning. During the evening Mr. P. C. Rose proposed the toast of the guest of the evening in well-chosen words, extolling Mr. Robertson, junior’s deserved popularity and splendid qualities. Mr. “Bill” Robertson suitably replied. Mr. Robertson, sen,, also thanked their many friends for coming along, and stated the pleasure it gave them to see so many roll up. Music was given by Mesdames Kinnane, T. Brough, J. Benton, and J. Bagge. Mr. R. Derecourt carried out the duties of M.C. “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” and “Auld Lang' Syne” culminated a happy gathering.
