MOKAUITI NOTES
BASKETBALL. The Ladies’ Basketball team from Pio Pio visited Mokauiti last Saturday to try conclusions with the local team. The teams were as follows: — Pio Pio.—Misses B. Larsen, H. Crocombe, P. Kilmartin, E. Dempsey, M. Murray, J. Winthrop, P. Fahey, V. Prichard and B. Browne. Emergencies: Misses P. Buckman and M. Brickland.
Mokauiti.—Mrs. C. Lyford, Misses V. Small, A. Pattillo, V. Dunphy, M. Opie, H. Longden, E. Riley, M. and B. Aldridge. Emergency: Miss McFarlane.
The game, which was controlled by Mr. D. Melrose, was a keen and enjoyable one, the home team winning by 15 goals to 5. At the conclusion of the game the visitors were entertained at afternoon tea, which drew forth many appreciative references.
