HIGHWAY SEALING
EXTENSION TO TE KUITI. In spite of unfavourable weather in recent weeks, good progress is being made on all roads and bridges under construction in the Waikato. With the construction of surveys between Whangamarino and Ohinewai, with a view to improving several corners, all work on the AucklandHamilton highway is completed. The formation, metalling and sealing of the remainder of the highway from the Waitomo County boundary to Te Kuiti is well under way.
In about 18 months there will be a sealed highway between Hamilton and Te Kuiti, giving motorists an uninterrupted run on first-class sealed roads from Helensville in the north to Te Kuiti in the south.
