TRAGEDY OF AIR CUSHION

DEAD MAN’S LAST BREATH. (From a Special Correspondent). (By Air Mail). London, January 16. A Warwickshire vicar had a disastrous experience on a visit to express sympathy with a woman whose husband had died. He was shown into the drawing-room, and upon sitting down in a large easy chair was surprised to hear a loud report. The air cushion had burst. When the widow entered he expressed his condolence and mentioned the burst air cushion, offering to replace it. The widow burst into tears and remarked: “You can never, do that. My husband’s last breath was in that cushion. He died from heart failure blowing it up.”
