RORA STREET PARKING
WARNINGS ISSUED. PROSECUTION RAID PENDING. Motorists who parked on the shop side of Rora Street for more than twenty minutes were warned yesterday. During this month another raid will be made, but on this second occasion it is intended to issue prosecutions. The narrowness of the main street, which causes dangerous congestion of traffic, has caused the Borough Council to make a stand to enforce the Borough by-law that cars should not park for more than 20 minutes on the shop side of Rora Street. Accordingly the Borough Engineer issued warnings yesterday, with the result that traffic was much less congested, <and it was possible for people to park opposite shops, do a few minutes’ shopping, and then move on—and there was not the temptation to park three abreast as has so often been noticed.
