A PARLIAMENTARY UNION. MESSENGERS TO ORGANISE. Suggestions were made in the House of Representatives that even members of Parliament might consider the formation of a union. Probably that poitn will not be reached, but the "union fever" has certainly reached Parliament Buildings. Every session a large body of men, known as Parliamentary messengers, is employed to look after the wants of members. The job is a sessional one only, but each session sees little variation in the personnel of the staff. It comes under the heading of a seasonal (or sessional) occupation. With the advent of a Labour Gov-' eminent and the promise of better conditions for all classes of employees, the Parliamentary messengesr are alive to the advantages to be gained from collective action, and a meeting has been arranged to discuss the formation of a Parliamentary Messengers' Union. It is understood that the meeting will be addressed by a well known Wellington Labour member of Parliament.
