IMPERIAL PENSIONS AND EXCHANGE.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —In connection with this mjH ter which my Association has ta]H up for the benefit of members, I am glad to say that owr efforts have now been finalised successfully, as will be seen from the following letter received by myself from the Commissioner of Pensions:—

"Referring to your letter of the 7th March, I have to advise that under an arrangement recently completed. Imperial pensioners resident in New Zealand will receive the benefit of the exchange position. Payment of ordinary instalments will not be affected, but at half-yearly intervals, supplementary payments made up of exchange for the preceding six months will be issued from this office. The arrears due for the past two years are now being circulated, and will be issued shortly with an explanatory note to each pensioner."

We trust that this decision will meet with the approval of our exImperial members and prove to them that we are a live body. We are endeavouring to reach a total membership of 215 by the end of this month; if we are successful, we shall have five times the number that we had three years ago. This speaks for itself. —I am, etc., W E. CAYLEY-ALEXANDER, President, Te Kuiti and District R.S.A.
