The Te Kuiti Pa is to receive a visit from Ratana, the Maori prophet, from Tuesday to Thursday next. Five hundred members of the Ratana Pa and nearby district are accompany« ing him, and large number of Maoris, from districts spread over a wide area, are expected. Ratana and the members of the Ratana Pa will arrive early on Tuesday morning, probably by a special train, and remain till Thursday, when they will return to the Ratana Pa.
One of the Ratana Maori choirs will also be in attendance.
Wiremu Ratana, Maori prophet and faith-healer, has according to a conservative estimate, a following of about 15,000. Soon after the end of the war he founded the Ratana Pa, just outside Wanganui, on the site of his own home. The members of the Ratana Pa are engaged in farming pursuits.
