MOTORING ACCIDENT
MR. A. BLACKMAN INJURED. An accident occurred to Mr. A. Blackman, J.P., yesterday which might have had much more serious consequences. Mr. Blackman had just left his home shortly after 9 o'clock, and when walking along Awakino Road a motor which was passing struck him and he was thrown to the side of the road, sustaining bruises to the body and severe cuts on the face. . The accident occurred as the car was passing a lorry going in the opposite direction. Mr. Blackman is also suffering from shock, and will be confined to his bed for some days, but reports this morning indicate that he is making a good recovery.
