CONCERT AT HANGATIKI

AN ENJOYABLE EVENING. The promise of “A Night of Laughter” was delightfully realised by an appreciative audience on Tuesday, 9th inst., at the Hangatiki Hall when the “Hinky-Dinky Concert Club,” of Hamilton, presented a truly humorous programme with great success.

The Concert Club was assisted by the following local artists:—Mrs. Gittins, solo; Mrs. Gittins and Miss Eileen Elliott, duet; Miss Nancy Sanders, dance and sailor’s hornpipe. Mr. Downard acted as accompianist for the evening. Prior to the singing of the National Anthem ten little Hangatiki girls presented the happy performers with bouquets, while Miss Nancy Sanders pinned a buttonhole on the lapel of Mr. Downard’s coat.

Refreshments were provided by local ladies and served to the “Hinky Dinkers,” in anticipation of thier long motor home. These were assisted by the several members of the supper and management committees. The proceeds were in aid of Sister Hobbs’ prize fund.
