OBITUARY.
MR. BERNARD HILL. News was received yesterday that Mr Bernard Hili, a well-known resident of Te Kuiti, had died at Now Plymouth. Mr Hill, accompanied by Mrs Hill and daughter, lei t here during the holidays for a rnotcr trip over the Awakino Valley Road, and was spending a few days at New Flymouth when he succumbed suddenly. Mr Hill, who is a brother of Mrs £. H. Hardy, arrived in Te Kuiti from Sheffield about five years ago, and has resided in Te Kuiti since that time. Although he never took an active part in local affairs, he was keenly interested in all matters affecting the town and district. He was also interested in every kind of sport, and was a most enthusiastic golfer. The deceased gentleman leaves a widow and two daughters (Mrs Wm. McAdam, of Otorohanga, and Miss Dorothy Hill) to mourn his loss. Major J. C. Hill, of Wellington, who was up to recently A.D.C. to the Governor of Fiji, is a nephew of the late Mr Hill.
