THE GERMAN NAVY.
MR. WILSON FAVOURS DESTRUCTION. JEALOUS OP BRITAIN'S SHARE. NEW" YORK, Dec. 21. Mr Clinlon Gilbert, the New York Evening Sun's Paris correspondent, cables that Mr Wilson favours the destruction of the surrendered German navy, and will insist that the United Slates' navy will equal the greatest navy in the world. This is an authorised statement. The United Slates desires the sinking of the German navy for reasons: First, it will be a great moral act; and second, the division of the German fleet among the Allies according io their naval losses will give Britain the lion's share, thus compelling the United Slates to build 16 more war vessels in order to carry out her contempted programme for a navy equalling the greatest navy in the world.
