LINER TORPEDOED.
RESCUE OF 550 PEOPLE A Japanese admiral reports that Japanesa destroyers were escorting a liner and a transport when tbo liner was torpedoed. The destroyers produced a snoke screen to protect the liner from further attack, and rescued 550 people from the ship, including women and children, in less than an hour.
