TURKS SEVERELY DEFEATED.

WEST OF BAGDAD TOWN OF RAMADI TAKEN COMMANDER AND STAFF CAPTURED London, Monday A report from Mesopotamia Btalos: We attacked advanced positions at Mussoid, four miles east of Kamiidi, 65 miles due west of Bagdad, on Friday. After occupying Mushado ridge we attacked the main positions in the region of Ramadi from the south oast. Meanwhile tha cavalry moved in a wide sweep round to the weet cf the town. After a severe battle lasting all day we carried the main positions, encircling Ramndi to the east, the ,south-enst, and the south, our lines being two milefl from the town. The cavnlry completed the cordon, the Euphrates running on the north side of the town. The enemy attempted at night timß to break out on the western side, but the cavalry headed them back. The attack was resumed at daybreak on Saturday. By nine o'clock in the morning the enemy was surrendering everywhere. The captures include gunß, arms, ammunition, much material, and several thousand prisoners, including the commander Aimed Bey and his stair. The enemy was entirely surr<rieed. Practically the whole of Ramadi fell into our hands. The troops displayed great gallantry, determination, und endurance under the most difficult conditions.
