THE MEAT TRUST.

•*-- AN APPEAL. In a circular issued to the members of tha Auckland Formers' Freezing Company, Limited, the chairman and secretary state: We again appeal to our shareholders to loyally support their own company. Control of the world's supply of frozen meat, including tlm retail business is gradually gutting into the huriis of tha big British und American meat companies, who own works in all meat-producing countries As soon as these companies enn command sufficient meat, they will be in a position to fix the price to be paid to tha producer and the price at which it will be sold to the consumer. Whilst it would be idle to say that the evils threatening the industry would bo overcome if furmers dealt only with their own works, it can be truly said thut every carcaob sold to the foreign meat w*orks owner strengthens the position nf those who are out to capture the trnda. Wo would, therefore, ask shareholders either to'send their fat stock to their own works for sale direct to the Government or to sell to an export buyer with a stipulation that it must be frozen at the Farmers' Freezing Company's works.
