KING COUNTRY CENTRAL A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A committee meeting of the above association waß held in the secretary's office on Thursday last. It was resolved that the presentation of cups be made at a Bmoke concert to be held after the annual general meeting, on Wednesday, May 21st. Thtj treasurer's report and balancesheet were adopted. ANNUAL REPORT.

It is with much pleasure that I .submit to you the balance-sheet f)r the year ending April 30th, l'.H3. You will notice that alter writing £3O deoreciation off the yards, the accounts still show a profit Cor the year of £l4 4s 2d. This is highly satisfactory in view of the fact that momborß generally do not show the interest in the association that they might both by paying .their subscriptions, and by forwarding entricH to help the show along. On looking into the accounts it will bo found that whilo entry foes this year were more than last year, the total amount of subscriptions received was less, although the membership is considerably more. There is a deficiency from last year of £4B H)b, less this year's profit, to wipo out; but your committer) feel sure that with the hearty co-operation of the members this can be cleared off thin year. During the year your committoo found it necessary to raise an overdraft from the bank of £.']()o to pay off outstanding liabilities in the shape of prize-money and general accounts. For this (hey have pledged the proceeds of debentures taken up by members, and they ask all members who have not already done ho, to help them by taking ono or more debentures in the association. This year'e show was highly successful in every way, the grand parade being a credit to the district, the horse classes in particular bringing out both good and numerous entries, but the sheep and cattle were not all that might have been expected. Realising the fact that tho home industries section was not getting the attention it needed, your committee made arrangements for a building to be erected. This has not been fully paid for yet, but they feel sure that the expenditure involved will be more than compensated for by the increased advantages of a permanent building over a tent. Your committee wishes to thank those gentlemen who generously donated cups and trophies, as well as those who gave donations towards tho funds, and it would hardly be fair to close without mentioning the generosity of the judges, most of whom came a long way, and gave their services to the association. These gentlemen all did sterling work, and would not accept even a refund of their exponsue. Wo are also indebted to several prizewinners who generously refunded (heir prize-money.- R. M.
