! Own Correspondent. ' A football match eventuated here \ last Saturday, between the local fitI teen end the Niboniho representatives, j the game being won by the home team Iby 11.points to nil. For the winners ! tries were secured by Towers and Ryan (2) one of*vvhich was converted by Cullen. Cullen at full played a safe game for Matiere, while O'Brien and Laurie on the three quarter line were very sure. J. Ryan at five eighths ployed a sterling game, and B. Towers at half proved a decided acquisition to the team. Of the others Towers on the wing, and Morecock and Poole played well. For the losers, Woods, Mosstrran and Roe of the backs, and the three Kellys in the forwards all played good games. Mr W. A. LeCocq acted as referee. In the evening both teams sat down to dinner at Matiere House-. For the return match the following have been chosen to represent Matiere:—Full: C. Ralph; threequarters: Ryan, Dench, Johnson; five eighths: H. Whisker; half: Taylor; wings: Lawson, Humphreys; forwards: Chase, Thompson, Hill, Tassie, Docherty, Sim morula —captain, Laundy. I
