jj Own Correspondent. f The second annual meeting of the j shareholders in the Ohura Co-opera-I live Daily Factory Company, Limited, | was held in the factory butter room on the 11th, a large number of share- ' holders being present to consider the ! annual str.'r—cnt. The total amount [of milk received was 356,9081b.«, and | cream 82,4031b5, giving a total of 47, | 640'541bs butter fat and 53,9191bs of i commercial butter, showing an ad- [ vance of 26,1401bs of butter on the [ preceeding season. The total amount paid to suppliers was £1303 10s 3d, while the expenditure for the year was £1043. The Chairman, Mr Sandison, in ad- ■ dressing the shareholders, explained that they had started last season with : an overdraft of £250, which they had : paid off, also sundry creditors, which made up a total of £344 paid during the season. These were debts that would not recur again. The prosrect for the coming season was that with butter at its present price, and the present supply, they had every pro--1 spect of paying next season 8d per lb. for butter fat; while the individual supply was increasing. They had six new suppliers for the coming season, which increase was sufficient to meet any unforseen expenditure, and the directors had every confidence that with the longer season they would not disappoint the suppliers in their estimate of the price to be paid. An arrangement had been made wih the Manager, Mr Turner, that reduced the salaries by £4O per annum, and while the directors did not expect any substantial reduction in wages, still, every economy would be practised. After the balance was unanimously passed discu sion wad raised on the posiion ofg settlers who had failed to make j good their guarantee of cows to be milked, and finally it was decided, on the motion of Mr Dunn, "That it be an instruction to tbe Directors not to receive milk or cream from sections that fail to supply thi t coming seanon, whose lessees have signed the original guarantee." It was moved by the Chairman, and seconded by Mr Woods, that at all times the members shall furnish the whole of their milk, except that which is required for home use, to the company until the quantity be ever so limited that taking it to the factory would be unremunerative to the members. Notice of discontinuance must be given to the manager, and the approval of the directors obtained. No [ member shall be allowed to furnish any , milk, cream or butter to any persons j outside the company.—Carried. j For the position of Directors four nominations were received, a ballot resulting in the two retiring directors being re-elected. Messrs Robinson and De Malmanchc expressed themselves as pleased with the compliment of being re-elected, and stated that being confident that the future of the factory was very promising they trusted to do their best for the share holders during the coming year. Mr Bicheno was re-elected auditor. The meeting passed a most cordial vote of thanks to the Directors. At tbe ensuing meeting of Directors Mr Sandison was re-elected chai r man, and arrangements were made with Mr C. McKinder to continue as secretary for the ensuing year.
