HEAVY RAIN AT LYNTON DOWNS. Although the rainfall for the first five months of 1950 was less that that recorded for the same period last year, the heavy fall at Lynton Downs last month has brought the six monthly total this year considerably in excess of that for the same period in 1949, reports Mr L. H. H. Weavers. The fall for the six months of this year was 25.04 inches on 54 days, compared with 20.49 inches on 57 days for the same period in 1949. ' There were 14 rain days last month, when 9.24 inches of rain was recorded, the maximum of 3.02 inches falling on June 30. * For the same month last year 3.10 inches of rain fell on nine days, and the maximum fall was 67 points on June 28. On six days last week 8.30 inches of rain fell at Lynton Downs.
