A pleasant little function took place at the County Council Office on Tuesday afternoon, when A.C.2 Len Harris, A.C.I Colin Hitchcock, and Able Seaman L. O. Guthrie were gests of honour of the Soldiers’ Entertainment Committee, and were recipients of gifts by Mr F. J. Monk (County ‘Chairman), on behalf of the people of Kaikoura. Mr Monk wished the guests all good luck and a happy future. Each of the recipients replied, thanking the organisers for an enjoyable afternoon, and the people for their gifts. Messrs D. M. Jack, A.
