HIGHER VALUES RECORDED. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. report that their sale was held on July 25, when the combined brokers submitted average catalogues. The firm’s contribution was a fairly heavy one, all grades selling exceptionally well. Good orders were on the market, buying buyers being well spread. Exporters took the bulk of the firm’s offering, with New Zealand furriers bidding on best lines of winters. Owing to the comparatively mild season so far experienced in many TTstricts, only a small percentage of clean winters wore on offer, a great majority of the skins now forward being spotted. As compared with the rates the firm quoted on July 11, best winters on the average appreciated 3d to JOd, does showing the greatest rise. Outgoings and springs •were also dearer, and the low grades fully firm. First winter bucks and does sold to 165 d per lb, second winter does to 153 d per lb, and furrier does to 149 d per lb.
