On Monday, August 7, Messrs Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., will offer for sale by auction 23 selected dairy cows, under instruction from Mr C. Hamilton, also a nplking plant and a quantity of hay. A dance is to be held in the Hapuku Hall on Friday night, the proceeds from, which will be divided between the general purposes fund of the Red Cross and the Hall Improvement Fund. Residents are reminded of the public meeting convened for to-morrow night at the Drill Hall, for the purpose of considering ways and means of raising Kaikoura’s quota for the 1944 Patriotic Appeal. It is hoped that there will be a large attendance.
