CHEVIOT NOTES.
Messrs (1. M. Truman ami Co. have a new announcement in this issue. Mr G. W. Aldridge, President of the Hurunui Sub-l’rdon, was an -nt: rested spectator of Saturday’s football match. Ad vie * has been received that it has been decided that Cheviot is not quite suitable for the holding of the W.E.A. summer school. The annual general meeting of the Mackenzie Tennis Club is to be held at
the Cheviot Public Hall this evening. A general meeting of the Cheviot Bram-h of the Plunket Society will be held in the Cheviot Public Hall on Thursday next, at 2.30. Dr. M. E. .’lrwin will deliver an address on “The Housekeeper. ’ ’ The annual meeting of the Cheviot Cricket Club is to be held in the Public Hall on Saturday evening next, Septein--ber 19. The question of affiliating with ihe A min i Sub-Association will be discussed. It is hoped there will be a good attendance. The first match for the Cameron Shield was played at the Maori Pa, Tuahiwi, on Saturday, when Cheviot defeated Tuahiwi by six points to nil. A full report of the match will appear in A grand victory dance, under the supervision of the Cheviot Football Club’s Social Committee, is to be held in the Public Hall on Friday evening. It will be a long night, and the music is to be supplied by Mi* Reg. Woods, of Christchurch. A record attendance is anticipated. Tickets may be obtained from members of the Football Club’s Social Committee.
