Entries at Addington ond Wednesday •.•/ere larger in .most sections of stock, and generally there was a hardening demand. Store sheep met with a brighter sale, hoggets, which had been dragging recently, meeting with much freer competition. The fat sheep market opened at something better than last week, but the final stages, when graziers had left the sale, experienced a sluggish market, values being noticeably easier. There was a larger entry of fat cattle, but there was a brisker sale, with a hardening in prices. North Island cattle and a. few pens of southern stuff represented about 30 per cent, of the entry, but for which there would have been something in the nature of a famine. The North Island cattle sold at substantially advanced prices on recent offerings, having been handled with less knocking about than is usual with shipped cattle. Another element in the free sale was the fact that the small entry last week left the trade rather bare of stocks. Store Sheep.—Good halfbred hoggets, 36/ to 39/6; good half bred wether hoggets, 28/6 to 29/6; three-quarterbred wether hoggets, 2(5/ to 29/3; cull threequarterbred wether hoggets, 22/6 to 24/; mixed sex three-quarterbred hoggets, 26/ to 30/(5; cull crossbred wether hoggets 23/; aged ewes with lambs, .18/1 (all contend); good four, six and eight tooth wethers, 35/6 to 37/; lower conditioned four, six and eight tooth wethers 32/ to 33/11. Fat Tigs.—Choppers, £3 to £6 10/; light bacon ers, £5 to £5 .10/, heavy £(5 to £7, extra heavy up to £7 18/ (average inice per lb 9£.d to lOd), light porkers, 48/ to 55/, heavy 60/ to 72/ (average price per lb 84d to 9Ad). Store Pigs.—Small wcaners 23/ to 25/, bettor sorts to 29/, small stores 28/ to 34/, medium 37/ to 34/, large up to 'B/, sows in pig £4 5/ to £B.
