RETURNING OFFICER
MR A. K. NORiRJS RESIGNS
MR J. H. LUCAS APPOINTED
The resignation of Mr A. K. Norris returning officer for Coromandel county for some years past was received by the county council last week. The resignation, which was for health reasons, was received and accepted with regret. A resolution was carried that the county clerk, Mfr J. H. Lucas, be appointed returning officer for the county of Coromandel. It was pointed out that it was the practise throughout New Zealand that the town or county clerk was the official returning officer. Up till the present only two towns in the Dominion had returning officers other than the town or county clerk, and Coromandel was one of them.
