HAWKERS LICENSES
ARE ALL PAYING FEES’
DISCUSSION IN COROMANDEL
Were hawkers and itinerant traders paying their license fees and was a check kept upon them? was the question asked by the Coromandel Chamber of Commerce of the October meeting of the Coromandel County Council. A letter was read from the chamber and in reply the county clerk, Mr J. ■H. Lucas, said that some hawkers paid their license fees regularly. The question was who were the offenders and whose duty was it to keep a check upon their operations? The matter was left without any decision being made by the council.
