MUST BE ACCURATE

BOUNDARIES OF LICENSES

MINING RESIDENCE SITES

The need for the accurate defining of boundaries when making application for mining residence site licenses was stressed at the October meeting of the Coromandel County Council when an application was received for such a license.

Arising from the application of a Mr Spencer for a miner’s residence site, the question of boundaries came up.

Cr F. H. Purdom said that in the old days, when a bona-fide miner was the applicant, the position was different. Now it was a question of applications for land adjoining roads and the council should have something more than a sketch plan before giving approval. In the case before the council so far as they knew tt was clear of the road.

Jt was resolved that there be no objection provided the road alignment was defined.

An application for a permit to build a bach on the point known as the Bastion, on Te Kouma road, by Mr P. J. Simmonds, was declined, the council deciding it could not give anyone permission to build on council property, the particular point being part of a road reserve.
