BRIDGE WANTED
WAIKAWAU BEACH ROAD
REQUEST TO DEPARTMENT
A request for the erection of a bridge on the Waikawau beach road was made to the October meeting of the Coromandel County Council by Mr A. J. Goudie, who asked the council to approach the Ministry of Works with such a proposal. Mr Goudie pointed out that a temporary structure had been placed there and had remained until the end of the war when it was removed. It had been hoped that the department would complete the structure as the present one was very low and was forming a dam, which overflowed into his
property. A resolution was carried by the council the facts stated by Mr Goudie were correct and that the department be approached and requested to complete the bridge.
