NOT IMPRESSED
WHANGAPOUA BLOCK
i ■ — VISITOR’S BRIEF REMARKS
Some prospective settlers looking at the Whangapoua were evidently not very impressed with it a/a future home. At ? the top «f l^lle I l *® g 10 ®* 1 !? over to Whangapoua is an old x A.A. sign giving the altitude at the summit. Below this sign is the following caption, which is believed to have 'been written by a prospective farmer of one of the soldiers’ settlement farms:— “We’ve been, “We’ve seen, • “Save your benzine.”
