THEFT OF TOOLS
TAKEN TO REPAIR CAR INCIDENTS AT WHAREPOA REMOVED FROM FARM TRUCKS Pleas of guilty to two charges of theft were entered by Jack Charles Bicknell, farm labourer, of Wharepoa, before Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Thames Magistrate’s Court. Bicknell was charged with the theft of three crescent spanners and one screwdriver, of a total value of £4 19s 6d, the property of Allan Leith Philip, and the theft of one vice grip spanner, one crescent spanner and one box of set spanneis, of a total value of £4 3s, the property of Francis David Dennison.
For the police it was stated that complainants, farmers in the Wharepoa district, left their trucks outside on the night of January 10. Accused wanted the tools to repair his car. It was discovered the next morning that the tools were missing. Nothing had - previously been known against accused.

have. • A fine of 30s on each charge was imposed.
