PADDY’S MARKET
PIPIROA INSTITUTE FINANCIAL SUCCESS The paddy’s market, held in the Pipiroa hall to raise funds for the women’s institute, proved a most successful day financially. The well laden stalls reflected great credit on the institute members who had worked so well to make the day a success. The children of the district were especially well catered for and enjoyed their day to the full. The following were the stall holders: Cakes, Mesdames Mangan and Tito; sewing and novelties, Mrs Scott and Miss Keane; ice cream, sweets and drinks, Miss O’Neil; dips, Miss Scott; produce, Mrs Peebles; competitions, Mesdames Bower and Keane and Misses Dalgety and Tito; afternoon tea, Mesdames Moffatt and McAulay; door attendant, Mrs Dalgety. Winners of the competitions were: Mesdames Williams (Kopuarahi), | Dailey, O’Neil, Tito, Powell, and the
Misses M. and R. O’Neil and Mr Bruce Powell who had a most successful day, winning three competitions.
