THEATRE IN COROMANDEL
MINISTER TO BE INFORMED
The picture theatre in Coromandel was the subject of some very adverse criticism at the November meeting of the Coromandel Chamber of Commerce. It was suggested that a letter be sent to the Minister of Industries and Commerce drawing his attention to the lack of suitable arrangements at the theatre and asking him to have an inspector sent to look at the build-
mg. Several members objected to me letter being sent without first advising the proprietress of the intention. An amendment to give her the opportunity to discuss the matter with a committee first was lost and the original motion being carried with the addition that a copy of the letter be sent to the proprietress.
