LETTER OF THANKS

FOOD PARCEL RECEIVED RETURNED SERVICES GIFT An expression of appreciation and thanks for a food parcel received from the Paeroa and Hauraki Returned Services Association, has been sent to the secretary from a resident of Lisdrumard, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The letter read as follows:— “ Just a line or too to let you know I have received your Parcle alright ,and I and my wife cannot find words enough to express to you and the People of N.Z. our very many thanks f for the trouble they have gone to to 'send us such a Gift which we are very thankful for and I and my wife thanks you and the People of N.Z. on behalf of any of my Comrades who receives the same kindness and do not acknowledge the same. Please convey my and my Wife’s thanks and best wishes to the People of N.Z. who is in sole charge of these Welcome Gifts. May N.Z. and its People always have Peace and Plenty once more I and Wife thanks you all for your Kindness to us and others.—Peter Matthews, late of Royal Irish Rifles.” Softball on Domain

An application for the use of part of the Paeroa domain was received by the November meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council from the Paeroa Softball Club. It was asked that the club be allowed to use the domain on Tuesday nights and Saturday. The application was granted with the charge of a nominal fed for the first season.
